Top Ten Tuesday: Unpopular Bookish Opinions

Formerly hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

This week’s topic is…Unpopular Bookish Opinions

  1. Book subscription boxes need to stop putting SJM items in their boxes EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH. STOPPPPP IT!
  2. I write and highlight in my books.
  3. If I don’t have a bookmark available, I will dog-ear my book pages .
  4. I liked Stardust better as a movie than as a book.
  5. I don’t mind people posting spoilers.
  6. I would choose Mal over the Darkling any day. TEAM MALINA FOREVER!
  7. I think #socksunday on Bookstagram is gross.
  8. Rainbow bookshelves are pretty, but that type of “organized” chaos does not work for me.
  9. Pride & Prejudice is the only good book that Jane Austen wrote.
  10. The Winner’s Trilogy is such an underrated series. PEOPLE READ IT! IT’S SO GOOD!

What are some of your unpopular bookish opinions?

  1. For a bunch of people who “read”, why aren’t the bookish items for the Harry Potter items true to the book instead of the movies? I swear to God, if I see another freaking raven for Ravenclaw, I’m going to stab someone.

  2. Great list! I also prefer the movie of Stardust (I also prefer the movie of Coraline – a lot of Gaiman’s shorter work is better onscreen, I think!) and yes to Mal over the Darkling. I’d’ve loved Alina to end up alone tbh, but Mal is definitely the lesser of two evils.

  3. I will expand on #1 and state that they also need to branch out with other genres in subscription boxes. There are other genres besides fantasy.

I just recently started using page flags in my books. I eventually want to write in them, but I am hesitant because I don’t know that I will keep some of these books forever.

    • I would love to see more contemporary merchandise. Give me Lord and Matson merch, please, lol.

Oh and I love page flags. I use them too, especially when I am hesitant in writing my books in case I want to give them away or sell them.

  4. you don’t like Sock Sunday?? that IS unpopular, haha! totally hear you on SJM, I don’t like any of her books so it makes my soul shrivel up when I see another darned item from TOG or ACOTAR, ugh.
