I have Uprooted (which is raved about by EVERYone) and Winterspell. Glad to hear they are gems. It may motivate me to read them sooner.
YES, READ THEM!!! Uprooted is one of my favorite books of all time.
I haven’t read any of these and I love fairy tale retellings. The Rose and the Beast looks especially fantastic, since I love Francesca Lia Block. My favorite hidden fairy tale gems are probably Tides and Mechanica by Betsy Cornwell. Mechanica got a fair amount of attention, but Tides (a selkie myth retelling) seemed to go completely under the radar.
I haven’t read Mechanica but it is on my TBR; I probably need to move it up soon, lol. And The Rose and the Beast is a collection of fairy tales retold–it’s so magical and amazing.
Very cool list- I’ve been meaning to read Blackhearts and I like the look of the Fall 😀
I went into Blackhearts with no expectations and ended up loving it! I hope you enjoy it too.

OOO I love retellings, but I haven’t read a lot of these books on this list. I’ve heard great things about Blackhearts and Scarlet, so I’ll definitely need to check them out!!
